Yes, there is hope

PSALMS 39:7 KJV “And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.” (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

Why do we wait for some things and rush for others? Yes, there are times when God says “wait”, but there are also times when God cannot even get these words out of His mouth before He sees a puff of smoke because we took off already. As usual, patience is not our strong suit and we are trying to get better with it, but we still have a long way to go.

Hope is defined as: a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen; want something to happen or be the case. So, we are always expecting something or desiring for something to happen, but it usually doesn’t go the way we thought it should…why? Did we wait on the Lord? Did we rush to judgement and try to find the answer ourselves without seeking God first? Did we just refuse to even try to wait because we felt our situation was more important than God’s master plan? Waiting may be frustrating, but it brings about the blessings of God that could not have happened any other way. #hope #wait #patience #God

Matthew 4:16 & 17

16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

We are those people who are sitting in darkness and we have yet to do anything about it. Darkness is closing in every time the news come on or every time you check social media, there are a few keeping up the fight and shining light in the middle…but they can’t do it alone. Jesus is trying to tell us we need to do something about this but we still sit on the sidelines thinking someone will handle it for us. That is just not the case. Darkness is getting closer and closer to our homes, our schools, our children and our jobs. It has gotten so bad that we can’t mind our own business and something evil is trying to attack us. Children of God, it’s time to RISE UP AND TAKE BACK WHAT WE LET THE DEVIL STEAL FROM US!!!!

Today take your freedom back. We should never be scared to go to work, send our kids to school or go out for fun fearing something bad will happen. People have gotten so bold as to come into the house of worship with that mess and junk…and we let them. It’s time to take the world back in the name of Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Only God, who has been carrying us “from the womb” (Isa. 46:3-4), can carry us into the future.

Psalms 91:11

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

God has never left us alone we have always had angels watching over us, some angels we can see and some we cannot. The reason is God wants someone to keep a constant eye on us and keep us going in the right the direction. We have mortals on earth that God has sent to do the same the heavenly angels are doing because we want to be able to physically see someone, talk to someone who can talk back to us or be held when we are crying and feel the love and warmth from a hug in return. Is there anything wrong with this? Of course not. God knew that His heavenly angels can only do so much with His mortal children, so He made sure He had His earthly angels walking among us to keep us going in the right direction.

Earthly angels can be anyone from anywhere. They are placed in our lives at the right moment to lead us and guide back to God. Sometimes our help comes in other ways: a song on the radio, a word coming from an unlikely foe, comfort in just a smell that reminds you of peace. God’s presence can come from anywhere at any time. The question still remains, will you be ready or will be looking for your answer to come in something specifically?

What’s old, God can make new again. #old #BrandNew #love

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 KJV “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

All we have to give to God is ourselves, sin and all. God can take that and make
us brand new.

Stay the course, stay on the path God has already laid out for you. #life #God #course #faith

Today, stay the course. Every action has a reaction and the choices we made in the past will come back around to harm us later. God has already laid your life out for you; all you have to do is walk it. He has placed people on the path to help you along the way with whatever comes up at you. If you stray, you are on your own.

He put us on a certain path for a reason, if we stray from it, we are now trying to find people to help us and /or pray for us. God will still be there but now He has to find another angel to step in and lead us back to where we should be…walking the straight and narrow. Stay on the path, trust in God. Your trials and tribulations are part of the journey, but He has sent angels down to help you as you get to certain parts of your journey.

Just let go and let God have His way.

God knows what we are, and are not, about to do way before we do, and He still protects us anyway. #love #God #Path #motivation #inspiration #lifequotes

I already knew thee

Jeremiah 1: 4 & 5 (KJV)

4Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

The Lord knew everything we were going to do before we knew we were even thinking about doing them. He created us in His own image; everything we know, do and say was embedded in us while still in the womb. Our actions, once we got out, determined where our journey took us next. Our lives, like Jesus, was already laid out before us…all we had to do was stay the course.

As usual we either strayed from the path, blew up the path, ignored the path or just plain refuse to walk it altogether. Now we are facing issues and problems that we shouldn’t be, and things are going on in our lives that just don’t make sense as to why they are happening in the first place.

PROVERBS 22:6 KJV “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

It is our job to do the will of God and teach our children to do the same. #God #teachers #children #mimic

In The Beginning

Most of us were brought up in the church.  Our parents went to church, our grandparents, and their parents and so on and so on.  This tells us to train up our children in the way they should go and when they get old they will never depart from it.  This is so true on so many levels.  Children watch their parents, no matter how much we try to keep adult conversations/situations from them, they are always watching and listening.  They mimic what they hear and see, so if there is someone in the church that we don’t like…they will stay away from them and not show them any respect.  If we talk bad about our church, not volunteering to help at all within the church…they see that and feel if we are not singing in the choir or volunteering to be on a church board why should they?

Our Job Now

It is our job to do the will of God and teach our children to do the same.  Don’t get me wrong, when they get older, they will stray from the church (I did) but if we did our job the best we could they will not be gone long.  All they knew was church: Bible Study, VBS, Choir Rehearsals, Sunday School, 2nd service, 3rd service and heaven forbid there’s a Revival that week!!!!! It makes sense that when they become adults they run fast and far from the church to see what the world has to offer.  When that happens, turn them over to Jesus to watch over them and bring them back home to the church.  They do return, some may take longer than others, but they do return.  We as parents need to stay on our job to make sure we are bringing them up the way they should go respectful, loving and helping.  In return, we need to be doing what is right in their eyes so, as we are training them, it’s not contradicting what they are seeing or hearing from watching us.

Call To Action

Today find your children, reach out to them.  Check on them and see how they are doing, if they need anything or just need someone to talk to about whatever is going in their lives.  If you don’t have children, you know of children that need your help.  Go help them.  It doesn’t always have be financial, sometimes they just need to vent to someone because they are so mad, confused or feel betrayed.  Be that listening ear.  Pray for them, pray over them, but most of all, pray with them.  In time, that training will kick back in, and they will seek God for themselves.

Time To Rest

Exodus 34:21 – Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

Growing up we were taught that you worked Monday – Saturday and you rested on Sunday because it was the Lord’s Day.  In this day and age, that just can’t happen anymore.  Times have changed where people’s work schedule, or life schedule, does not give them that option to rest on Sunday.  What I love about God is He said work six and rest one, to Him as long as you rest one day…He’s okay with it.

We are doing too much and are forgetting to rest.  When we don’t rest, we make mistakes.  Those mistakes may cost us our lives, our jobs, our finances and our families.  When we don’t rest, we cannot think clearly on what needs to be done and what should be done.  The body can only run for so long without a break. So, either you rest it willingly or your body will make you rest eternally. Which do you choose?

Today get some much-needed rest.  The world will still be spinning when you get up.  Time to take your health and strength back, but first you need to rest.  Whatever it is you need to do can wait until you rest.  Give your body time to recharge and renew itself.  Better to rest now and get things done right the 1st time than to keep pushing your body, messing things up and having to pay for it later.

The Academy at Corner to Corner

I’ve got exciting news!!!!!  NGM, Inc. got accepted to The Academy Spring 2024 Class of Corner to Corner!!!!  What is Corner to Corner? What is The Academy?

“The Academy is a 10-week program that equips community members with the skills they need to plan, start, and grow their own small businesses. The Academy helps neighbors create a sustainable economic engine for their families and community. In an effort to remove many of the typical barriers to entrepreneurial training, The Academy is offered in a variety of locations – all within walking distance of government housing projects. And in 2020, we also started offering virtual classes. The program is intentionally affordable. Students are only required to cover the cost of their curriculum workbook. Since inception, The Academy has graduated over 1,000 Black entrepreneurs, each in various stages of small business ownership. And 88% of our Academy community is made up of Black women.” – from their website

To know more about them, you can go to: Home – Corner to Corner

What does this mean for Next Gen?  Growth, it means growth. I prayed for help to get the word out about the ministry.  A co-worker, Sis. Pruitt, told me about The Academy (she is an Alum) and suggested I should apply.  I applied back in December and was notified February 7th that I was accepted into the program!!!!  We had our 1st class on February 27th and it was great.  Learning different things I can do and networking with others to spread the word about each other’s business.  I prayed, God answered and now it’s time to put in the work to bring this dream to reality.

I ask for your prayers during this time.  To have an on-line ministry is different from anything else but it is how I can reach more souls because just about everyone has a phone these days.  We are reaching so many young people excited to engage with topics that pertain to them, but we are just getting started.  I will keep you up to date on the progress but graduation is in May.

I prayed, God answered and I will do what I need to to bring His children closer to Him.

Stay Blessed

Can We Really Blame Lack of Prayer in Schools? – 7/31/2023

Romans 12:12 – “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-12-12/

Psalms 54:2 – “Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.”

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-54-2/

Thought For The Week:  You must remember, the answers to your prayers may not come with a bow with a note attached.

People are still quick to blame the lack of prayer in schools as the reason for all the danger our kids are in today while trying to get an education, but it has nothing to do with it.  Prayer does not start in the school…it starts at home.

I can tell you growing up, when we did have prayer in the schools, it did not stop anything.  Kids were still being bullied, fights still broke out (some with weapons), kids still got into trouble for foolishness and police were still getting called to the schools.  So, what really has changed from then until now…parenting.

I graduated from high school in 1992.  Back then, teen pregnancy was getting a good start.  The problem was it kept going.  You had babies having babies and they didn’t have time to grow up themselves yet.  Some didn’t have the guidance, during this much needed time, to nurture them on how to raise a child so they did what they could do with what they had available.

Fast forward, we have generations now that are friends “with” their kids than parents “of ” their kids.  Anything wrong with this?  No, as long as you are the parent first and you “help” them to remember that when they forget (which they do from time to time) who is the parent and who is the child, there’s nothing wrong with this way.  What happens is parents become friends and try to hang out with their children instead of leading their children and the respect for their parents starts to fade.  It never fails, parents are their friends for so long that when they try to parent, it’s too late, all respect for you is gone because you let them get away with stuff for far too long, they don’t see you as the parent anymore but a rowdy.

When it was first said about them taking prayer out of schools, my question is where was all this outrage when they took it to the courts in the first place?  All we had to do was show up, but we didn’t and look what happened?  Still prayer starts at home, but so does parenting.  If you don’t have control of your child at home, what do you think they are going to do when they go to school?  It is not the school’s job to discipline our children.  They should go to school like they got some sense, sit down, shut up and learn.  Having prayer in schools means nothing if the souls walking through the doors don’t have goodness of God in them.  Prayer is just a word, it’s the action that we need to work on with our children, the staff, the world.

We need to remember the bible is the “only” book that the same scripture will mean something different to you every day you read it. God is awesome.  He moves in us every day, now it is our turn to move back into the world and reclaim it for Him once again.  We can’t expect Him to fix this mess that we let happened…can we?
