Evil Shall Not Dwell Within Me

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. – Psalms 5:4

This verse says God does not like wickedness (causing or likely to cause harm, distress, or trouble) and evil shall not dwell (to remain for a time) with Him.

People keep asking “how can God allow this to happen?”  He didn’t, man did. Remember God is our father, and like any parent, they can only protect you for so long when you keep thinking you can do things on your own.  He tries to protect us from hurt, harm and danger but sometimes He has to take a step back when we get to “big for our britches” and show us what happens when we disobey Him.

My God is real!!!! He does not like wickedness and He makes sure to stop as much of it as He can, but He can’t do it alone.  You have to remember, the devil was an angel too and he also knows our deepest desires, lusts, wants and needs.  God can only touch the hearts of those who want to change and it is those who we read about that have a “change of heart” or for some reason they say they “just couldn’t go through with it”.  Then there are those who don’t want to change, they have made up their minds and they are determined to go through with it and take as many as they can or they just take their own life.  For whatever reason, these people have a harden heart from whatever pain they endured for however long, that they think this is the best option for them.  It is these people that we must pray for God to release the evil in their soul.

You never know whose heart you will soften by a kind word, a smile or just by being nice.  You don’t know how many “incidents” you may have stopped at your job, on the road or at the store by you just smiling at someone or say “hi” when they looked at you.  Somebody should be shouting right now about the goodness and glory of God!!!!

Today, just be nice.  Show someone that the world is bigger than the sad news we see being reported every day.  Let peace begin on earth, but let it begin with us.

Have a blessed weekend and tell somebody about the goodness of the God you serve!!!
