There is a song called, “He’s never failed me yet” that Sis. Gwen Nance used to sing when I was growing up.  The first verse goes:  When my friends and my foes turn against me and it feels like I’m at the end of the road.  I fall on my knees to Jesus, for He always keeps His promises.  He’s my best friend that I ever had and there hasn’t been a time that failed me yet.

Friends, and foes, will turn against us. For whatever reason, they will find a way to turn what we say and do back around on us.  Most of the time it is jealousy, they want what we have or they want the life we are living.  Not to mention that jealousy changes per person, per situation, but the outcome is the same them trying to destroy us. Most of the time we feel like we are at our wits end because we don’t understand where the hatred and jealousy is coming from and what we did do to cause it. 

We should fall on knees to Jesus for He has always kept His promises.  We have not always kept our promises to Him, but if we do what He asks He has always kept His promises to us.  Therefore, Jesus is the only best friend that if you betray Him, He won’t tell your secrets. He won’t try to embarrass you when you don’t do what He asks and He is always there when you need Him to carry you through the tough times.  He’s never failed us yet.

Today fall on your knees to Jesus, you are in need of something and you don’t know what else to do or know who you can turn to for help.  Clear you mind, release your burdens and go to your best friend in prayer.  He has been waiting for you and He has the answers to your questions.  Just call out His name, be patient and wait for His answer.  Remember, it may not come the way you think it should.  It may not be all lit up with arrows telling you “Here’s your answer”, but He will answer.  The question is:  will you be listening?
