I have spoken to some students and they have a lot to say. We came up with somethings they wanted to talk about. We will start off with how they feel about returning to in-person learning and things they have seen as schools try to keep them safe. Other topics they want to discuss is: the mask mandate (and I will have a copy of that mandate so we can go over it), dress appropriation, self-esteem and school drama.

We need to help our students anyway we can, but it first has to start with us listening to what they have to say. This will be just be the first of many, many times that I will go our youth and have them tell me what’s on their mind.  It is time for the village to be held responsible for the education, growth and survival of ALL our young people.  Won’t you join me?
