Let Me Explain

18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?  19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.  20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.  21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:  22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: EZEKIEL CHAPTER 37 KJV (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

The children did not understand what was being said to them and asked if they could explain.  We see that someone took the time to explain to the children what the Lord was trying to tell them. They even went a little farther to give examples to make sure they understood what the Lord had planned for them.  Isn’t it great when someone explains something to us that we just don’t get? To be able to follow along and really understand what is being told to us is a great feeling.  We don’t feel so lost or confused anymore and can give the right answers that go along with the discussion, all because we understood what was being said.

The problem, sadly, is that it doesn’t happen much anymore and we have a lot of people living their life in confusion for not understanding the basics of life when they were younger.  I have never had a problem explaining what I was talking about to anyone of any age.  You cannot accept the call of God and not be willing to explain to His children so they can understand what He expects of them in their daily lives.  Jesus took the time, and had the patience, to make sure all He spoke to understood His Father’s wishes in their lives.  We have some in the ministry get called out because they could not answer a question from a sermon, they said God placed on their heart.  If God placed it on your heart, and you really need to put in the time to do your research, there should not be too many questions you cannot answer or be able to find them the answer at a later time.

I have seen children, young adults and even adults, get ignored from asking too many questions.  Why? Because what was being taught was more from the speaker than from God.  If God gave you your topic to speak on, then He would have provided you with all you need to teach it to His children.  He cannot do everything for us, we have to put in the work as well.  Which means do your own research so you can better explain it when you speak on it, which in turn, will help with any questions they may have before they knew they even had a question.

Today, explain something to a child, youth or young adult. Everyday things are being said to them that they just don’t understand.  Most of the time we see the confusion on their faces, but we don’t take the time to ask if they understand what they just heard.  Because of this they go into the world with the wrong answers and the people, who try to explain, sometimes make it worse.  The way the world is today our young people need to understand what is going on around them, so they act accordingly.  If not, they could choose wrong and it could cause them to get hurt or worse. Take time to explain if you see confusion, what they learn from you could help who may learn from them later.
