Back in the Day
I come from a singing family; even my baby brother will lead a song sometimes. My dad used to sing a song called, “Serving the Lord” and the part that lead into the verse said, “Serving the Lord will pay off after while”. A verse of the song goes: “I got to keep on working yes I have. Cause I want my starry crown, I know that my way will get brighter even though my friends sometime let me down. And O what a time it will be when my Savior, my Savior face I see. Serving the Lord and oh it all pay off after while”. As I write this, I can still clearly hear my dad singing this song and being a testimony to how true that statement is for not only him, but everyone under the sound of his voice. Now that I’m older, and have had my own trials and tribulations, I now understand what that song means and how it means so much more to me now.
My Testimony
My testimony started October 31st of this year. Now is the time to fill you in on what has been going and why I have been M.I.A. When God says you can speak, you speak but when He knows your soul is troubled, He knows you may need to sit it out for a while to get yourself together before you address others. I was on FMLA WFH since April 2022, the difference is I was still working full-time just from home.
My office went to a hybrid schedule in July, but my doctor due to my Type 2 diabetes, said I did not need to be around people just yet. It was approved and I continued to work from home. October 14th was when it was to expire and my doctor, once again, filled out the paperwork for an extension of another 6 months…this time the request was denied. Basically, my job overruled my doctor and said I had to return to in-person by October 31st. It was that day I told them I would return, but I will be looking for employment elsewhere.
My Test
My test was that if I could not return to the office at the job I have, why would God bless me with another job? Most jobs today, if you are a new hire, means you would be working in the office. Not only that but me returning to work and not having an attitude about it, because I was so past pissed, keeping it holy and professional. So, I did just that, I was my old self like everything was okay even though it was not. After looking at a job posting for TDOC, where I left 5 years early but in a different department, I applied right before the cut-off. The next couple of weeks went boom, boom, boom, boom. I applied October 16th, had my first interview October 25th, my 2nd interview November 1st. I was offered the position November 22nd and I start on December 16th. YES, GOD IS REAL!!!!!
Going Back Home
Not only am I going back home to my old department, but I will be getting more money than where I am now. God knew what we needed with the new house and now our son a freshman in college. God blessed us with what we needed at the time we needed it. Goes back to what I said before that you can get your reward while you still on this side of the river to enjoy it and we are enjoying it. Then the Lord blessed the hubby with a raise, HOLD MY MULE AND GET ME MY TAMBOURINE!!!! When your actions are aligned with your words, the blessings will overflow we are a witness!! I told the Lord what I was willing to do to better the family and He blessed me with my reward for my obedience and faithfulness.
Work On Patience
Today, continue working on learning to be patient and how to wait on the Lord. That in everything we do, in Jesus name, will pay off after a while. Our problem is we can’t wait for our blessings and always try to find ways on how to mess up something. Now, more than ever, we need to stop, breathe and slow down. God’s work is not something that can be rushed, or forced, it must be done right…the first time. You cannot rush God, your blessing will come in His time and His time alone.
What Happens Now
That is what has been going on, on top of getting the non-profit up and running, dealing with sick babies, then me getting sick to now I’m back at a place where I can get back to work. We are now taking slightly used clothes, shoes, toys for all ages and all genders. We are building back up our prayer closet to be ready when help is needed. We are still taking donations but know there is just one campaign and not 8. Now when you give it will go to whoever needs it at that time. So regardless, your donations are going to help those in the community get whatever they need. Remember your donations are tax-deductible.
A Blessing for Thanksgiving
To give you an idea how we are doing so far, we were able to feed a new mother and her family for Thanksgiving. When I say feed, I mean feed. I fried them a turkey and baked them a boneless spiral brown sugar glazed ham. They had every side ever wanted: sweet potatoes, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, potato salad and green beans (thanks to my mom), mac-n-cheese they had snickerdoodle cookies for dessert and a ½ gallon of Southern Sweet Tea. If we are going to feed someone, we are going to make sure they get stuffed. Next time, not just for the holidays, we want to feed more. This is what I mean about being able to feed those who need our help. Whether I make it myself, get a catering company or give them gift cards so they can get what they need themselves. We need your donations to bless more in 2023, won’t you help us?
Ways You Can Give
There are many ways you can give and whenever donations are used, you will know how your donations blessed someone else. Buying merchandise is also a way of donating to the ministry as a way to bless those in need. We will be parting with other organizations that share our vision, to help more souls in other local communities so be on the lookout for that as well.
As we approach the Christmas season, it is the time to be a blessing to someone else. God blessed you so you can bless others will you do Lord’s will? Will you be a blessing to someone else?
