Abram had instructions to leave his family, get out his father’s house and move to a new location where God planned to bless him.
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. How many of us could have been blessed if we just did as we were told? In this day and age, parent’s hint to our independence by the time we hit 18 years old. For some, we move away and prosper. Why? Family is not around to nit-pick at what we are doing. Furthermore, we have no choice but to depend on God when things go wrong. God knows we don’t talk to Him as much as He likes, but when we get into trouble (and don’t know what to do about a situation we gotten ourselves into) He can’t shut us up from calling His name, nevertheless, He’s still there with open arms to help us.
How many times has God asked us to do something and we chose not to do it? Yet, when we do what He says, the blessings are countless. Now we are fussing and talking to ourselves for not listening the first time. Going through mess and junk because we had to do it our way, just to still end up doing it the way God told us to do it in the first place. The next time God gives us instructions, the cycle starts all over again.
Today, let us just do what God asks of us. Don’t question Him and likewise don’t hesitate, just do it. Then enjoy the blessings and the peace that comes from obeying the Father.
Be Blessed!!!!
